The first Magna was Honda's 1982 'factory custom', wrapping the new liquid-cooled V45 V-four shared with the Sabre in American-cruiser styling: pulled-back bars, stepped seat, dual rear shocks and a short sissy bar. Under the chrome it was a quick, smooth, shaft-driven machine with a six-speed box, anti-dive forks and twin front discs, quicker through the quarter mile than most cruisers of its day. Testers liked the engine and brakes but found the riding position tiring on long freeway runs.
